NCAA Recruiting Data

I built a web scrape pipeline that will pull the last 10 years of recruiting data by state, populate the school locations on a state map by density and then plot the number of commits by town and by college. I plan to turn this into a shiny app to allow users to select their own state and years. But for now, I started with West Virginia.

Image Segmentation With, VGG16 Weights, U-Net & Filtering

This code uses pre-trained VGG16 weights to extract weights from a set of images in which I have limited training masks. I extracted the weights for each pixel and created those weights as a feature/predictor. Then, I applied filtering techniques to each pixel to create more predictors. My original accuraccy was 66% using only the VGG16 U-Net hybrid model. With applying filters I was able to achieve 92% accuracy of pixel prediction.

WVU Football Analytics

I have built a pipeline for WVU football data (although it can be adopted to any team). The pipeline uses the API from www.collegefootballdata.com and pulls in all plays from a specified game. I started with a single game and plan to expand this further to include more analysis, more games and eventually a Shiny app that will allow users to select their desired games.

I started my career in the military as an electronics warfare specialist/signals intelligence analyst. I moved on to the government contractor arena as a traditional IT Systems Administrator and then into leadership positions as an IT Director. I left my job and founded an IT/Cybersecurity firm in 2012 and grew it to 10 employees before stepping down as the CEO. I completed my MS Business Data Analytics degree from WVU in 2020 and I absolutely love machine learning for inference and prediction. I enjoy solving tough problems using my experience in IT and as an entrepreneur combined with statistics and computational methods.
